BM Container Depot in Chittagong News Update: As per Fire Service Report, the fire at the BM Container Depot in Sitakunda, Chittagong, has spread. Dozens of people have been injured in a fire caused by an explosion at a private ICD (Inland Container Depot).
Almost dozens of people, including policemen, and fire service, were injured in an explosion as a fire at BM Container Depot Sitakunda area in Chattogram on Saturday night.
On Saturday (June 4, 2022) night, Shahjahan Sikder, the officer in charge of the fire service and civil defense headquarters (media cell) said to OgroNews.Com in this regard.
He said that the fire was reported at 11:25 pm at BM Container Depot in Sitakunda, Chittagong. After that, 8 units and later 8 more units went there and they are trying to control the fire.
The fire service spokesman said the fire had spread to the Sitakunda area due to an explosion at the depot.
As per the recent report, at least five people were killed and over 100 people, including policemen, and fire service were injured in the explosion.
Four of the deceased were kept in Chattogram Medical College Hospital until 1:30 AN on Sunday, said the hospital police outpost in-charge Sub-inspector Nurul Alam Ashek while officials of Park View Hospital in the port city said that one of the victims was brought dead to the hospital.
The witnesses said that the fire spread to the BM Container Depot within a few minutes of beginning the fire. Fire Service reached there within a few minutes and local people gathered there to assist the fire fighters to control the fire.
